Response or Recur

Pre-treatment imaging has the power to give insights into response to neoadjuvant therapy before it is given. For the case of interventional procedures such as ablation, the combination of baseline and post-treatment imaging can predict recurrences months before they would and, when combined with initial post-treatment imaging, has the power to see recurrences before they would otherwise be clinically observed. The core areas of focus of this research line are:

  • Clinical complete response prediction of rectal and oesophageal tumours to chemoradiation determined from the combination of MR and endoscopic imaging. For the case of those showing complete responses, the prediction of tumour regrowth is also a focus;
  • Pathological complete response prediction of breast tumours to chemoradiation determined from the combination of MR and pathological whole-slide imaging;
  • Risk classification of prostate tumours using the combination of MRI, ultrasound, and histopathology;
  • Recurrence prediction of colorectal liver metastases after thermal ablation using CT imaging.
