About

After obtaining my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Technical Medicine from the University of Twente, I started my PhD research at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. My PhD research is focused on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in response assessment of neoadjuvant therapies for patients with Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer. Neoadjuvant Immunotherapy show promising results for patients with bladder, but there is a need for quantitative measurements to accurately assess the treatment effect. Based on multi-parametric MRI scans, we are developing these measurements to assess treatment response. This research project is a multi-disciplinary project from the Radiology, Urology and Internal Oncology departments. With a background in both the clinical and technical aspect of medicine, my ambition is to innovate in personalised health care through the implementation of AI.
