About
I am a medical doctor working as a PhD researcher in the division of Diagnostic Oncology at the NKI-AvL. Prior to my PhD research, I have worked as a physician in general practice and as a surgeon’s assistant in the operating theatre, concurrently engaging in teaching health sciences to college students. I have been involved in research since I was a medical student and have attended multiple international trainings and courses before and during my PhD trajectory. My research at the NKI is centered on the image-based risk stratification of patients with locally advanced colon cancer, specifically on enhancing the diagnostic accuracy of computed tomography (CT) in identifying high-risk colon cancer patients who would benefit from neoadjuvant therapy. Through these efforts, we aim to contribute to the refinement of colon cancer staging guidelines, ultimately leading to improved treatment strategies for colon cancer patients.
